Election Services

The organization of elections is a core function of the Atlantic County Clerk. The Atlantic County Clerk’s election responsibility begins with the filing of candidates’ petitions. The Atlantic County Clerk utilizes the information from the petitions to prepare the vote-by-mail, official machine, and sample ballots. In addition, the Atlantic County Clerk prepares and issues the certification of election results. Election Integrity

Title 19 of New Jersey State statute outlines the duties of the Atlantic County Clerk to maintain, process, and certify elections in Atlantic County. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the preparation, printing, organization, and certification of the ballots for any election held in Atlantic County. The Atlantic County Clerk is ultimately accountable for the proper conduct and adherence to procedures related to election documents and even some aspects of election law enforcement. The privilege of being the Atlantic County Clerk comes with the solemn duty to carry out and maintain accessible, fair, and safe elections.
